After one of the hottest area summers since the Super Y-League (SYL) inception in 1999, the youngest members of the Northern Virginia girls program have nothing but fond memories heading into the fall. The U10 and U11 Northern Virginia Soccer Club (NVSC) Girls each completed perfect seasons to claim outright Mid Atlantic Division Championships in their respective age groups.
Not to be outdone in their own bracket, the U10 Majestics FTF Boys won the seven-team Mid Atlantic Division with a 9-1-1 record. The Majestics Boys scored 59 goals over their eleven game season to earn bragging rights in the U10 standings.
Led by head coach Justin O'Shell and assistant coach Nicole Schweitzer, the Northern Virginia U10 girls boasted a 8-0-0 record over a season that included four shut-out wins. The upstart NVSC offense averaged over six goals per game while backed by a stingy defense that allowed only seven goals for the year. A testament to the impressive defense and goalkeeping, the Northern Virginia U10s had only surrendered a single goal at the midpoint of the season, outscoring their opponents 26-1 at the halfway point of the summer.
