Invited to the Super Y-League Olympic Development Program camps in January of 2008, AJ Sheta was one of the youngest members of the Northern Virginia Royals’ PDL side during the 2008 season. Despite his age, Sheta tied teammate Matthew Brady for the club’s lead in points scored (10).

Royals U20 Come Back from After Going Down 5-1 to
South Jersey To Tie The Game 5-5 The Royals opened the scoring two seconds into the game on a long shot from the kick off by a U16 Royals player, AJ Sheta, this is AJ’s 5th long distance goal this year.
South Jersey scored four unanswered goals to take the lead at half time 4-1.
South Jersey added another goal 10 minutes into the second half to take a 5-1 lead. AJ Sheta started the come back by scoring his second goal of the game from just outside the 18 yard box. The Royals added three more goals two from Nadhal Sharfi and one from Gene Daniels who was called up from the Royals U14 team. The Royals had three more chances in the last five minutes of the game but were not able to capitalize and the game ended 5-5.

AJ Sheta scores winning goal in the 82nd minute
Richmond open the scoring on a penalty kick in the 12th minute of the game to take the lead 1-0, the Royals keeper Andrew Keszler, saved the initial shot but Richmond followed in for the rebound and the goal. in the 38th minute Julian Cantillio tied the game on a penalty kick. Ahmed Sheta, who plays for the Royals U16 team that also competes in the USL SYL, entered the game 22 minutes into the contest and quickly had an impact on the game. in the 82nd minute of the game AJ Sheta, as he is known in the soccer community, took the ball 25 yards from goal and proceeded to beat five players before putting the ball in the back of the net past the
Richmond keeper for what proved to be the winning goal. Possibly the youngest player to score in PDL
