2012 Northern Virginia Majestics Tryout Registration Form

In rapid preparation for next weekend’s season opener, the Northern Virginia Majestics announced today the resigning of three returning players fresh from successful college years. Alex Reed (Maryland), Alyson Gregorowicz (Tampa), and Sahar Aflaki (Radford) will rejoin a Majestics squad under a new coaching staff.
A transfer from Loyola College, Reed played forward for the Maryland Terrapins this season and scored a dramatic overtime game-winner against George Washington University. Prior to college, Reed was a two-time all-state selection while at South County High School in Fairfax, Virginia.
A teammate of Reed’s at South County, Gregorowicz will find herself in familiar territory again featured in the Northern Virginia defense. The solid Gregorowicz spent last fall anchoring the Spartan backline, contributing to the University of Tampa’s 16-6-2 season record.
The speedy Aflaki returns to the Majestics attack after starting her collegiate career as a forward for the Radford Highlanders. Aflaki’s earlier soccer prowess at Battlefield High School in Manassas, Virginia, earned her numerous all-state and all-region honors.
The Northern Virginia Majestics announced today the signing of veteran W-League midfielder Jill Porto to the 2012 roster. A former collegiate standout at the University of Alabama Birmingham, Porto played in both the Majestics’ Super Y-League and W-league programs prior to her stints with several other United Soccer League (USL) clubs.
A native of Woodbridge (VA), Porto played several years starting at U16 level for the Northern Virginia Majestics youth teams. The speedy midfielder joined the Northern Virginia W-League side in 2005 while also playing for the eventual North American Champion U19 Majestics in the Y-League.
At UAB, Porto provided the Blazers with an offensive burst and a quick attacking midfield. She earned All-Conference honors as a freshman (C-USA) as well as NSCAA Regional Team and Soccer America Team of the Week Selections as an upperclassman.
